ILL SEEN ILL SAID

Series of drawings. Gel pen or ink on paper, various dimensions. 2022–ongoing

Ill Seen, Ill Said is based on images generated by an early neural network from news reports. The algorithm translates the language of events into blurred, almost indistinguishable images, stripped of direct narrative. Reproducing them by hand with a gel pen becomes a meditative process that opposes the speed of digital generation with the slowness of human labor. In this encounter between algorithm and hand, the series opens a space for reflecting on how events become images — and how images fail, distort, or preserve what they attempt to represent.
